WHO AM I?

I’M A FILMMAKER

My filmmaking journey began in high school, with borrowed phones, hurried scripts, and me and my cousin running around the streets of Koforidua, Ghana. Without proper equipment, I leaned into silence and visual storytelling, and that’s how my first film, As The Wind Blows, was born. Five short films and a documentary later, I’ve explored everything from experimental silent films to using DIY lighting made from a torch, cardboard, aluminium foil, and baking paper to collaborative projects and multidisciplinary art events.

My biggest project to date is Mother’s Smile, a 20-minute film produced on an £800 budget. It sparked spin-off projects including an album, a fashion line, and digital art collaborations, culminating in a self-funded screening for 200 attendees using radio-frequency headphones.

Professionally, I’ve worked with Metro TV on Good Evening Ghana, the country’s most popular current affairs programme, and serve as board director and media director for Empowerment Eduvision Initiative, a registered non-profit foundation dedicated to empowering students through educational outreach, skills training, and community impact initiatives.

I’ve gotten quite comfortable making magic from nothing. Now, I think it’s time to make wonders from everything. To take all the lessons, experiences, and stories I’ve gathered and transform them into work that reaches further, connects deeper, and pushes boundaries. Filmmaking has been my way of navigating the world, but it’s also my way of shaping it. This journey isn’t just about creating art; it’s about leaving a mark.

And I’m just getting started. At 22, I’ve barely begun to scratch the surface…
